Weekend Project {It's Your Day: Board Book}

9.07.2012

Fall is here... And I'm looking forward to getting back to some weekend projects (hopefully)! I've been thinking about how to make the a wonderful book to follow Bren's first year of school... I've long been inspired by Dear Lizzy... And I adore this book... It's the perfect set up to add little pieces hear and there... Pictures, artwork, her first writing (can't wait for that)! Perhaps I'll get started this weekend!

Weekend Project {Confetti Tablecloth}

3.09.2012

A few weeks ago, my dear friend Jess sent me a link to a wonderful project from 'Oh Happy Day'... This simple and lovely confetti tablecloth would make a great addition to future parties!

Weekend Project {Photobooks}

3.02.2012

Over the last few years, I've posted several of the photobooks I've created for our family here on the blog... I've had a few of you contact me, asking how I created these photobooks... I've been scrapbooking for years now... And I've always really enjoyed it... About three years ago, I began to wonder about using Photoshop to create digital scrapbooks... At the time, I had one little girl and another on the way, so the thought of creating on my computer and not taking up the amount of physical space that regular scrapbooking required was very appealing... I'm also a bit of a perfectionist and I love the flexibility of creating in Photoshop...

After a wee bit of searching, I found a lot of free resources out there to get me started... I learned how to use layers in Photoshop (this is a great tutorial on layered templates) and my first photobook of our trip to Paris was born! Of course, the free resources only got me so far so I began shopping at some of my favourite digital shops...

My top three favourite Digital Scrapbooking Shops:

I create all my pages in Photoshop as psd files... When I'm completely happy with them, I flatten and save them as jpeg files... I've used both Blurb and Shutterfly to publish my photobooks... I upload each page as a jpeg and then fill the entire page with the single image...

If you don't have Photoshop (which is totally, totally worth the investment... It's used more than any other program on my computer!) Shutterfly offers some great options to create lovely photobooks with a scrapbooked look... Simply upload your photos and then drag and drop them!

I recently started designing my own line of digital scrapbooking papers and elements... My newest kit, Hanna is my favourite so far!
 New to Digital Scrapbooking? Design House Digital has a great tutorial to get you started! Why not give digital scrapbooking a try this weekend?

And don't forget, today is the final day to enter the giveaway for a print of your choice from 'Yellow Button Studio'... I'll be choosing a winner tonight!

Weekend Project {Relax}

2.24.2012

This week really got away from me... I can't believe it's Friday! Monday was a holiday here... So I feel like somewhere along the way, I lost track of time! I've been busy potty training Leah, finishing up and listing my new digital scrapbooking line (did you have a chance to download my first freebie?), keeping two stir-crazy toddlers occupied, tending to an under the weather baby, and doing all the other usual things such as cooking, trying to keep the house somewhat tidy, breathing, eating, sleeping... My project for this weekend? Relaxing... It's been many weeks since we've had a Saturday with NO plans... That's right, nothing on the calendar!

I hope you too have a chance to catch your breath this weekend! Happy Friday!

P.S. Tune in for a lovely giveaway on Tuesday! So excited!

Weekend Project {Vintage Plate Wall Display}

1.13.2012

I've been collecting antique and vintage china for years... My collecting began when my grandmother gave me her tea cup collection when I graduated from University... When we moved to the new house we had a huge open space on our kitchen wall... After some searching, I finally found a way to hang some of my favourite plates, many of which have been collected a thrift shops over the years... I purchased invisible adhesive discs from 'Dischangers'... And last weekend, we finally hung the plates... I'm so happy with the result!

Weekend Project {Holiday Drinks}

12.23.2011

It's Christmas this weekend! There's still time to run out and gather the ingredients to make some delicious Holiday Drinks... I'm trying to settle on which one to make for our Annual Christmas Eve Gathering... I think any of them would taste just as good without the alcohol (which I will be skipping)... Just click on the image to view the recipe! And Merry Christmas!

Weekend Project for the Kids {Memory}

11.18.2011

Two wonderful ideas for making your own Memory games... Enjoy and happy weekend!

Weekend Project {Big Sister Kits}

11.04.2011

I wanted the arrival of this baby to be extra special for my girls... So I put together Big Sister Kits for each of them... An assortment of exciting goodies in cute canvas bags with a special card, wishing them each a "Happy Big Sister Day"... I filled the bags with colouring books and tiny pencil crayons, candy, small toys, slings for their babies, and of course, disposable cameras (I can't wait to see what they'll capture)... It was such a joy to put these together! Happy weekend friends!

Weekend Project {Pumpkin S'mores Cake}

10.28.2011
