Sigh...

This past weekend was a very busy weekend... And on Saturday night, feeling very tired and burned out, Jay and I went out for one of my favourites, Frozen Hot Chocolate... And we talked... About the girls, about life... And about how very, very busy things have been for us these last few months... I'm heading back to work, teaching one day a week in late October... And I feel like there are so many pulls on my time... So many! It's because of this, that I've decided to cut back on the blog... This is a pretty hard decision for me... I've been posting every day since June 2008... I haven't missed a weekday in four+ years... So to stop posting... well... the perfectionist in me has a very time with this... But I know it's the best thing for me right now... For my girls... For my husband... So I'm saying good-bye to my regular blog posts... I'll pop in here and there with posts that I want to post... Thanks to all who read day after day... And I know there are many of you out there! And please continue to stay tuned... Later this week, I plan to share photos from our family photoshoot with my cousin Amy!

Weekend Project {It's Your Day: Board Book}

Fall is here... And I'm looking forward to getting back to some weekend projects (hopefully)! I've been thinking about how to make the a wonderful book to follow Bren's first year of school... I've long been inspired by Dear Lizzy... And I adore this book... It's the perfect set up to add little pieces hear and there... Pictures, artwork, her first writing (can't wait for that)! Perhaps I'll get started this weekend!

Life on Film {Junior Kindergarten}

My first baby started school yesterday... And I just had to share this... How sweet is she? She walked away from me... Without looking back... And for that I am both truly thankful and a little bit sad... There are very few moments when she needs her mommy anymore... And that's good, right? When I picked her up at the end of the day, she ran to me and said "School is perfect Mom!"... What more can I really ask for?

Leah, on the other had, was a bit down without her big "sissy" around... She said on our way to school yesterday morning, "Mommy, I'll be all alone"... And on the way home, she turned around and said to Bren, in a most earnest voice, "I missed you." It was a moment I hope I will always remember...

Life on Film {Britain Lake}

It's a big day here today... My baby, who's not really a baby anymore, goes to school for the first time today... I am so happy for her... She's been so eager and excited to go to school... And I am so thankful that we get to send her to a school we fully trust and believe in... Where the truth that we are teaching her at home, the truth of God's Word that she hears faithfully each week, will be honoured and affirmed... I'm amazed at how quickly the last four and a half years have passed... And I can hardly believe that today, I need to let her go a little... I'll miss my girl... But this is the beginning... The beginning of the roots and wings... And with that, I leave you with a few treasured images from our overnight getaway to Jay's parents cottage on Britain Lake...
